Wear it again & again- The Little Black Dress

The little black dress. We all have one hanging in our closets, and if not, need to invest in one. Like a great blazer jacket or nice pair of dress pants, the little black dress is a wardrobe staple that if taken care of and worn right, will never go out of style. Granted, we don't want to be seen out too many times in the same frock- trust me, I get it. To save you hours of shopping and purchases that will probably end end up as wear & toss, we've compiled a list of ways for your to change up your little black dress.

Step 1- The dress

Currently my go to, this $36 treasure from American Apparel

Other great options...
Silence and Noise for Urban Outfitters $58

Jones New York at Macys

Step 2- Changing it up
Layer it! If you're out for a night on the town, trying layering with a jacket that is a completely different color and texture.

This Dean Denim Jacket by Forever 21 is a great way to spice up your dress.

Belt it! Adding a belt is a cheap, easy way to spice up any black pallet. Jessica Simpson goes Madonna with her belted black number below.

You can find fashionable belts at prices that won't break you at your local H&M.

Add a headpiece! No one will notice you're wearing the same dress when they catch eye of a headpiece. I have found these accessories are not for the faint of heart- it's a trend that is catching on, but I haven't been able to get many people to try. Do it. Trust me.

Try this Lacey Headband by Free People $18

The obvious! Pair your LBD with a crazy pair of shoes, tights, or some stand out jewelry. Visit your local thrift store for great finds, or try places like Forever 21 for jewelry and hosiery you can afford to wear & toss. And if you're still bored with your number, pull out the glue gun and add embellishments or a misplaced zipper, or up your hemline. Just realize once you go shorter, you can't go back. :-)
