Diamonds are girl's best friend?

Professional phone thrower and supermodel Naomi Campbell may be subpoenaed as a witness in the UN case against the exiled former president of Liberia, Charles Taylor. Taylor is currently on trial for war crimes committed during the Sierra Leone conflicts back in the 90's. He is being accused of giving rebels ammunition and weapons in exchange for diamonds.

Apparently at a dinner party at Nelson Mandela's home in 97' witnesses including actress Mia Farrow claim that Taylor gave Campbell diamonds. Campbell's agent at the time also corroborated this story. Campbell herself has declined to comment stating that she does not want to put herself or her family in any danger.

If it's not one thing, it's another, hey Naomi?

Broke Brides Rejoice!

It was announced today that Vera Wang is partnering with David’s Bridal to launch an affordable bridal collection for reality conscious brides. I.e.- the gals not willing to drop a car payment on a dress they’ll wear for one day.

The collection will consist of bridal gowns and accessories, surely to be followed by bridesmaid dresses and shoes. Staying consistent with David’s Bridal’s price points, the collection pieces will be priced below $1,500.

Wang has said “I am thrilled for the chance to bring my very specific vision to David’s Bridal, the biggest wedding retailer in America.”

Former fashion editor at Vogue Magazine, Vera Wang is best known for her wedding gown designs and has more recently expanded her brand through fragrances, house ware collections, and an affordable diffusion line, Simply Vera by Vera Wang, sold exclusively at Kohls Department Stores.

To Die For... Marchesa Fall 2010 RTW

Oh, if only I were getting married, a professional ice skater, or a teenager going to prom in 1982.

Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa have created a collection suitable for any of the above, and while it might sound strange, I’m a little bit in love. When asked where they found their inspiration, they explained they found it with Famed 19th-century circus performer and seductress, Lola Montez. The collection "reveres her satirical circus travels."

The success of the Fall 2010 Marchesa line is sure to be evident on the red carpets this season.

Bravo ladies, a collection to die for.
